Most remote-capable devices require both people to sign up to some platform, hand your data to a middleman, and hope the relay servers don't go down or disappear. DegenShackles does it differently.
Remote access is built directly into the hardware. When your device is online, your partner can connect to it through our own session control server — no third-party accounts, no apps to install, no external platforms involved. Sessions are relayed through our infrastructure, keeping the signal path entirely within DegenDesigns.
The controller interface runs from control.degen-designs.com — accessible from any browser, on any device, anywhere in the world. One link, and they're in control.
Lock, release, set a timer, flip on random mode — everything available locally is available remotely. Long-distance just got a lot more interesting.
How it works: Remote sessions are relayed through our own server — no third-party platforms involved. We may collect anonymised telemetry data during sessions, in line with our privacy policy. No personal data, no accounts, nothing tied back to you.

Remote access is great — but sometimes you want everything to stay entirely local. DegenShackles works perfectly offline, with no internet connection and no outside systems involved. Just you, the hardware, and a browser.
When connected to the same network, the device hosts its own local control interface. Open it on your phone, tablet, or laptop and you have full control — timer mode, random release, manual lock and unlock — without touching the internet at all.
This also means you can run a completely air-gapped setup if that's what you want. No cloud, no telemetry, no pings to any external server. Local mode is entirely self-contained.
It's the same interface, the same features. Just without a data connection. Privacy isn't a toggle you turn on — it's the default.
Fully offline-capable. No internet connection is ever required for local operation. The device runs its own web server — no apps, no accounts, just your local network.

DegenShackles is a DIY electronics kit. All components are included and assembly is
straightforward — most people have it running within an hour. That said, this is an experimental product, not
a mass-market consumer device. It hasn't gone through CE, FCC, or similar certification processes, and it
shouldn't be treated as one.
If you're comfortable with basic electronics and understand that you're building and using something you've
assembled yourself, you'll be completely fine. We just want you going in with clear eyes.
