Built on principles,
not profit tricks.

We're a small team making affordable, high-quality gear for real people. That means no surveillance, no disposable junk built to break, and absolutely no paywalled features for hardware you already own.

Privacy First

No cloud required. No accounts. Only fully anonymised telemetry — and only when you're connected online. Your play stays between you and your hardware.

Repair-Friendly

Every product is designed to be opened, fixed, and extended. Schematics, firmware updates, and eventually full open-source — because you own what you buy.

Sustainability

Longer-lasting products mean less waste. We ship with minimal packaging, use repairable design patterns, and avoid planned obsolescence.

Affordable

High-quality BDSM hardware shouldn't require a premium membership. We keep margins honest and features free.

A word before you dive in.  DegenShackles is a DIY electronics kit — all components included, assembly takes most people under an hour. This is an experimental product; it hasn't gone through CE, FCC, or similar certification processes. If you're comfortable with basic electronics and understand you're building something yourself, you'll be completely fine. We just want you going in with clear eyes.

No subscription
for hardware you own.

We believe that once you've bought a physical product, you shouldn't have to keep paying for it to work. A subscription is only justified when there are genuine, ongoing costs — like compute, storage, or active services.

Totally fine to charge recurring

  • Fully digital products with real server costs
  • Active AI services (inference isn't free)
  • Cloud storage or streaming platforms
  • Ongoing software-as-a-service products

Not how we roll

  • Locking firmware features behind a paywall
  • Charging monthly for your device to keep working
  • Mandatory accounts for offline hardware
  • Killing functionality if you stop paying
👀 Psst.  We said "unless it's a fully digital product with real ongoing costs — like an AI service." We might have something like that in the works. An AI Domme that actually makes sense to subscribe to? We're not saying anything… yet. 😉

AI as a tool,
not a replacement.

We use AI thoughtfully — as a lever for a small team, not a shortcut around the humans who give our work its character.

What AI helps with

Boilerplate code, regex (after all — nobody truly understands regex), quick documentation drafts, and general "I need this boring thing done" tasks. It's a pair programmer for the dull parts.

What stays human

Every sticker, graphic, and illustration was drawn by a real person. The majority of our code was written by a real human. Architecture decisions, product vision, and creative direction — all ours.

No AI-washing

We won't claim an AI designed our hardware when a human engineer did. We won't pretend generated images are original art. Honesty about what's human-made is part of who we are.

The UX exception

We'll be upfront: most of the styling and UI? That was heavily AI-assisted, because we don't yet have a dedicated UX/UI person on the team. We're working on it.

A tiny team in Poland,
building things we'd use ourselves.

We're based in Poland — a small group of makers who wanted to create BDSM gear that's actually good. Affordable, privacy-respecting, and built to last. We don't do investors, we don't do dark patterns.
